What is the Rain-Coat step by step Application Process?

Our process is the most complete and unique in the entire coatings industry. NO OTHER CONTRACTOR OR SYSTEM will offer the proprietary methods we employ to prepare your home for coating.

1. Clean entire house exterior.

2. Remove mold and mildew using State approved, environmentally acceptable processes and cleaning agents.

3. Completely inspect home for potential future water intrusion, and structural issues. Advise owner. Offer remedy's if necessary. (owner is NOT required to use Rich-Co for these services when necessary, however, we are fully prepared to remedy at your request.)

4. Grind down exterior surfaces to remove and smooth paint where needed.

5. Apply LOCK DOWN PRIMER. This is a unique product in the industry which penetrates and locks down all of the various incompatible old layers of paint, while leaving a tacky surface designed to adhere only to Rain-Coat.

6. Repair cracks and holes, and level with our patented, waterproof, exterior grade spackle putty. This acts as a filler to convert all cracks into flexible expansion joints.

7. Use our patented fabric repair bandage to waterproof all gaps over Ľ” wide, such as penetrations, window and door areas, or large wall cracks. This will create a permanently moveable but waterproof repair that will last the LIFE of the building. This is necessary because ignoring, cementing, or just covering these areas will cause certain failure in the future, as the building moves and settles, etc.

8. HAND APPLY two coats of Rain-Coat. Spray applications are fast and easy for the contractor but the coatings merely sit upon the surface without truly penetrating. Our brush applications bring old-world craftsmanship and quality to every job.
